Praxis CTO is a working notebook, not a brochure.

I'm Matt Shirel. I've spent 20+ years in enterprise IT — architecting systems, leading teams, and cleaning up the decisions that looked fine in a slide deck and painful two years later.

Strategy. Applied. That's the standard I hold this site to. Not frameworks for their own sake — the reasoning a CTO actually uses when the architecture review runs long, the vendor pitch doesn't add up, or the board asks "why does this cost so much" and the honest answer is complicated.

Praxis CTO started in September 2026 as a place to write that thinking down in public: what's working, what isn't, and what I'd tell a friend who called me before making the call themselves.
